Swamp Fox of the Confederacy: The Life and Military Services of M. Jeff Thompson tells the early days and times of Thompson's life, followed by the military service he gave during the Civil War with accounts taken from his own journal. At his death in St. Joseph, Missouri in 1876, the Weekly Herald pronounced him " The live man of St Joe." " A fair type of the Southerner physically, the Northerner mentally, and the Westerner in his manner and broad progressive ideas", said the Gazette, and in a later issue added, "One of the bravest and best men our country ever produced." 116/Softbound/Map/Photographs.
