The photo was the property of Jim, Dick, Gary Giseburt, Nancy Martin and Judy Kaelin. Photo is of the employees of the Pork Processing Department. They are shown as a group; behind them are hanging pig carcasses on a conveyor. A sign in front says "Pork Dressing Department Has Worked 1332 days or 532,800 Man-Hrs. Without a Lost-Time Accident." Caption identifies workers: This is the crew of Swift and Co. Pork Dressing Department taken about 1950. The group of men worked five years and 12 working days without a lost-time accident, which is remarkable because the floors were always wet from frequent cleaning. There were no windows, and the only ventilation came through large pipes that hung from the ceiling. The company closed in 1970.
