They Passed This Way. This Audio Tape and songbook contains a collection of melodies, popular along the westward wagon trails during the 1840's and 50's. It is a unique opportunity to study the past through music. Included with this recording are the music and lyrics for the songs on the cassette relating the adventures and hardships typically encountered between St. Joseph, Missouri, and Oregon. Esther Kreek is the major musician with her hammered dulcimer, assisted by other musicians with their instruments and singing. We have 2 copies of the songbook and cassette.
