143/3058aDescription
Tepee.
Item has not been physically located, nor are there records indicating it was in the museum's possession. It is listed in the Index and the Insurance Index as a Cheyenne tepee (tipi), but was not marked as found when the original physical inventory was completed. Online entry created for tracking. Originally this information was listed under 143/3058, which has been physically located and identified as a muller. Removed from that entry for clarification.Collection

Dimensions from the letter from T.R. Roddy. Original dimensions were listed as 40 ft in length, but that is for a teepee referenced in a Herbert Coffeen letter, which is not this tipi.Provenance
Notes
From the original entry:
SEE COFFEEN IN VOL. 1, p.62a OF THE HLG LEDGER FOR DETAILS OF PROVENANCE.
SEE ALSO p. 19 OF THE 1950 (CIRCA) INSURANCE INDEX. 3058 IS LISTED AS TEPEE AND MISSPELLED AS (TIFI) UNDER THE PAGE HEADING OF CHEYENNE. THERE IS ALSO A NOTE IN BLACK INK TO THE RIGHT OF THE ARTIFACT DESCRIPTION WHICH SAYS "either crow or cheyenne". THIS NOTE COULD DESCRIBE THE ARTIFACT LISTED AS 3010 ABOVE 3058, BUT 3010 DOES NOT HAVE ANY DESCRIPTION, SO I (RLC) FEEL THAT IT REPRESENTS ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION OF 3058. THIS NOTATION ALSO IS CONFIRMATORY OF THE MULLER BEING INSERTED IN PLACE OF THE ORIGINAL ARTIFACT, THE CHEYENNE TEEPEE.
7/24/25 (TZ) notes - the "either Crow or Cheyenne" memo does refer to 3010; the same notation (Crow or Cheyenne) is typed in the Index with 3010. This entry is listed under Cheyenne in the Index without additional notes. Provenance is T R Roddy
