Newspaper photo: Picture of T. J. Pendergast and Lloyd C. Stark taken in October 1932 at the funeral of Francis Wilson at Platte City. Politics say that it was at a meeting there that Major Stark asked Pendergast to support him to succeed Mr. Wilson as the nominee for governor. Penergast told him that he had decided to support Judge Guy B. Park who with that support won the nomination and the election. But four years later Pendergast did support Stark for the gubernatorial nomination.

He lived there until he was about 20 years of age when he followed his older brother, Jim to Kansas City and political power. The house is still standing and occupied.
Newspaper photo: Boss' Headquarters In a cubbyhole of a private room on the second floor of this brick building at 1908 Main street, Kansas City T. J. Pendergast for years convened daily with the politically ambitious and those seeking nothing more than a dollar to tide them over to the next day. That Main street address became a byword of bossism in Missouri political campaigns. It was in that room that Pendergast in his political prime gave the nod that meant one could be United States Senator, governor or, secretary of state, or congressman. And it was there he told many aspiring to office small or large, that he couldn't be for them. The boss was frank.
