Scope and Content

Tootle (Estate) Correspondence from E. C. Dameron, 1893-1898. E.C. Dameron, from St. Louis. Dameron is Milton Tootle, Jr.'s brother-in-law married to Milton's sister, Francis. It seems he performs as Tootle's property agent in the St. Louis area. He recommends property for purchase/lease and real estate loans for Tootle's consideration. His letters are all handwritten. Although not identified as such, Dameron seems to be working personally for Tootle or perhaps the Estate rather than for the Tootle Lemon Bank. They seem to be personal friends as well. Dameron often writes from his second residence at a place he calls Falicon, at Clarksville, MO, above St. Louis on the Mississippi River. Milton Tootle (I) died in 1887 when Milton Tootle, Jr. was only age 15. The Estate's affairs carried on through much of Milton Tootle, Jr.'s life.
