Scope and Content
Tootle Hotel Projects, St. Joseph, Correspondence, 1894-1897. File folder containing various letters between Tootle, investors, attorneys, and vendors, regarding construction of a hotel in St. Joseph. It isn't established that these activities are related to the later Hotel Robidoux which opened its doors at 5th & Francis in 1909.
This hotel, however, had been costed at least by Edmund Eckel.
Other documents suggest Tootle was attempting to buy the Pacific Hotel in St. Joseph, and perhaps the Princeton Hotel in that city. He may also have been interested in erecting a hotel in Chicago.
Letterhead from Pacific Hotel is included in these papers. Also letterhead from Munchenberger Bros. Wall Decorators and Picture Frames.
