Thomas E. Tootle Family Portrait, c. 1880. Family Group of 2 women, 2 teen girls, and mother & father. Females are wearing dark (satin) full length dresses with high collars with their hair swept back and up. Mr. Tootle is balding with a white full beard. The adults are seated. Each teen girl is behind a parent and leaning on the chair back. Sepia. (Photocopies of portrait with excerpt from someone's diary who was traveling with Mr. Tootle up the Platte River. Also has photo of Mrs. Tootle with her granddaughters Ellen James & Agnes Lacy.) Left to right. Mrs. Ellen Duff Bell Tootle, Mary Armstrong Tootle, Susan Bell, Ellen Bell Tootle, Thomas E. Tootle. Mary Tootle later married W. K. James. Ellen Tootle marries Graham G. Lacy, Sr. Susan Bell is the sister of Mrs. Tootle.
