Townsend Mausoleum at Mt. Mora Cemetery Project Correspondence, St. Joseph, 1933-1934. Files of Eckel & Aldrich Architects. Project to design and construct an Egyptian style memorial as the R.E. Townsend Mausoleum in Mt. Mora Cemetery. One correspondence notes that the roof of the structure weighs 24.5 tons! Included is the certificate certifying the Smith-Barre Granite used for the memorial. There are hand-written instructions about how to create the mortar mix for the granite for setting the Sphinx and Land Constructions Concrete Mix formula dated 1934. File includes correspondence, bids, blueprints, contracts, sketches, estimates and proposals.
