Trail to California. The only authentic contemporary record of the epic migration known as the Gold Rush are the journals which a few of the Forty-Niners kept while they were in transit. This journal began with Vincent Geiger at St. Joseph, Missouri and was continued by Wakeman Bryarly from the North Platte until his arrival in California.
