This travel scrapbook covers a visit to Youngstown, Ohio in Sept of 1916 to the Logans and then Texas in the area around El Paso where her friend, Margaret's husband is working. At some point, they move on to Ft. Hancock. They, they move on to Birmingham via New Orleans. This is all by train of course. There are postcards and wonderful snapshots of the time in El Paso and Ft. Hancock when they slept in tents with army cots and rode horses everywhere. Catherine looks marvelous in her riding outfit. There is a rattle snake skin with the story of its demise and more snapshots of Catherine's friend, Margaret with her baby and husband, Jack. It seems they returned to El Paso and then moved into a house in Ft. Hancock. It is now sometime in January or February. After that, they seem to be traveling east. There are letters from Chicago and Cleveland, with an extended stay in Harrisburg, PA. These are all very chatty letters to her family, mostly her mother, describing social gatherings, the dresses worn, the food eaten, the touring in the motor car and the loveliness of the scenery and the sunsets. She's having a wonderful timeContext
