Scope and Content

A sealed FIRST DAY OF ISSUE envelope. There is something inside but the back flap reads 'OPEN CAREFULLY - THIS ENVELOPE IS A COLLECTOR'S FIRST DAY ISSUE' and is sealed to tightly to open without damaging it.

Context

The return address is a large picture depicting a butterfly, sword fish, crane, elephant and turtle, and written below is UNITED NATIONS Conversation and Protection of Nature. It is addressed to Donald Julian Stallard MD, St. Joseph MO and is postmarked NOV 19, 1982 with a circular UNITED NATIONS, NY - FIRSR DAY OF ISSUE marking. It has an orange 20¢ United Nations stamp.
