Research Notes

Notes

This is likely a M1912/M1917 Service Coat. Made from heavyweight wool with cotton lining and brass buttons, this jacket was worn by the American Expeditionary Forces during World War I. It features a practical approach to military attire, marking a philosophical shift from the ornate and colorful uniforms of the 19th century towards a more functional, camouflage focused design.
