Description
An Universal Etymological English Dictionary: Being also an Interpreter of Hard Words contains a handwritten note in the front of the book which says: "Presented to the Sherwood Museum by Mrs. Ida Dillommer, 1028 Bourbon St., New Orleans, LA. I am 58 years. This book belonged to my Great-Great-Grand Father." There is a lot of writing with ink in the first several pages which tended to bleed through. It appears that the first printing may have been 1693 with a 25th printing in 1790.
