Description

Wagon Southwest, Story of Old Trail to Santa Fe, is the story of the trail from Independence to Santa Fe and of Captain William Becknell who was given the label of "father of the Santa Fe Trail" because he was the first to successfully make the trip, sell his goods and bring back lots of silver in exchange. Traveling the trail was not easy because of the Indians, squabbles among the traders travelling the trail, as well as the difficulty of the trail, itself (climbing the mountains or the desperate dryness of the desert route). This book is from the Don Reynolds collection. 50/Softbound/Illustrations/Maps/Tables.
