Warfel, George, Jesse James Art, Photos (4), c. 1975. sepia & b/w. Photos of original artwork by artist, George Warfel, of Jesse James at different times in his life. Sketches were made from known photographs of James and one is a composite. Includes a sketch of possible exhibit design created by Warfel. Included with the photos is correspondence from Warfel about the possible exhibit, a diagram of the James home living room that includes a discussion of whether the "bullet hole" is authentic, as well as his review of inaccurancies he believed included in the 1957 Museum Graphic article about Jesse. (See 2020.1.343-345)
Warfel original works can be seen on exhibit at the Patee House Museum in St. Joseph.
