Westheimer Story, Feb. 10, 1987, St. Joseph Gazette, Timely Observations..
Ed Hirsch sent the Christmas Day Timely Observation reminiscing on St. Joseph 100 years ago. I was flattered to read about my grandfather's name and his advertising activities.
Louis Westheimer stated that he was born at 2301 Clay St. and lived there until 1920 when he moved to Europe . He is the family historian. The St; Joseph Museum has been helpful to him in his research.
Samuel Westheimer, his grandfather, who died in 1914 came to St. Joseph in 1859 a poor man. He ultimately built a very successful wholesale liquor business and was elected to the Board of Aldermen. He stated that he has added the column to the family history and has sent copies to the surviving cousins
