"...White Arm is a full blooded Crow Indian living in the primitive way on the reservation. He makes frequent visits to Sheridan and it was on one of these visits that he was induced to try his hand at drawing. After this series of pictures were completed an interpreter was secured and a description of each picture was called for. The accompanying text is the result.
Every word given by White Arm has been faithfully recorded. Note being able to sign his name to the drawings, he was requested to adopt some form of signature, and decided to use the crow, which now marks each drawing as genuine."
Items #605-608 missing. These 4 drawings may never have been included in the original donation or they may have been removed in the distant past and given a different number. Investigation on-going 7/1/2019.
