Wild Animals of the World "aims at the broader plan of furnishing factual biographies of the representative mammals of the world." Included are the best-known mammals of the world, "the ones that are most likely to be talked about in books of African adventure, or seen in the great zoological gardens." Many of the more unusual animals are discussed--like aardvarks and anteaters. The text of Wild Animals of the World is by William Bridges, Curator of Publications, New York Zoological Park. The Animal Portraits are by Mary Baker.
