The World Guide to Antiquities is a beautifully illustrated dictionary of art and artifacts from around the world. Among the countries included are ancient Egypt; Pre-Columbian ruins in Mexico and Central America; Italy, Greece, Sicily, Turkey and Iran. In the introduction, Leon Pomerance of the Archaeological Institute of America states that since many antiquities in the above countries are not being preserved, this book is invaluable in its documentation.
