Wright, Harry E., Pencil Drawing of Chief White Cloud Looking at King Hill, undated. Wright's interpretation of Chief White Cloud gazing at King Hill. He is standing on the east bank of the Missouri River looking up at the hill above him. He is depicted only a loincloth, and a few head feathers. (The legend was that White Cloud acquiesced to the Platte Purchase Treaty when he discovered a plantain weed there, a weed that was introduced to the area by white men.) Signed "HEW" in lower right corner.
Wright was a staff artist for the St. Joseph Museum.
