James, Jesse, Photo on Horse "Stonewall" from Star Newspaper, 1875. Purported to be a news photo (although it looks much like an illustration). Man in dark suit and light hat mounted on his light-color horse with dark mane. (Although this description accompanied this particular copy. The "original" photo in SJM collection has printed on the photo that this is a Pinkerton agent.) Caption below: "Rare and hitherto unpublished picture of Jesse James given the Star by his son, Jesse James, Jr. This picture shows Jesse James on his favorite horse, Stonewall, and was taken in 1875" Original digital scan located on History CD 02.
