Description

A deed addressed to the sheriff of St. Mary's County signed by Judge George Brent stating that James L. Biscoe bought a tract of land totaling 276 acres. This cost of the purchase totaled $5,000 and the court hearing to finalize this was held in Leonardtown, MD in the summer of 1864 (?). Biscoe was required to pay $343.75 for the deed to be notarized, which was done by the Circuit Court of St. Mary's County.
