1995.001.1616Description
Black and white 8"h x 10"w photo of the Adna Johnson house. The view shows the gable end and a two story wing of the two story clapboard house. There is an outside end chimney on the gable end that pierces the peak of the roof. On the second story, a two over two window with shutters is on the left of the chimney. There is no window on the right. On the first floor, there is a two over two window with shutters on each side of the chimney. A shed roof screened porch has three bays on the short side. The screening is in a series of tall rectangles above and short squares below. There appear to be two interior posts on the this end of the porch. To the right of the main house is a two story addition to the building. Its gable roof is at right angles to that of the main house. On the second floor, a single two over two window with shutters is centered in the space. On the first floor, two two over two windows are quite close together and share a pair of shutters. Two openings to the basement have shed roofs over them. On the gable end of the addition there is one window with shutters centered in the second story space and a three light transom window in the first floor space. A small square chimney divides this wing from another one that parallels the main house. There may be two windows on the second story, but it is difficult to see the configuration on the first floor. There are no bushes around the house. A gutter is on the eave of the wing, with a downspout on the corner closest to the camera. A trellis is visible in the yard to the far left. This is a substantial house.
