Description

4 7/8"h x 3 1/2"w color photo of the interior of All Saints Episcopal Church (Oakley, Md.) The photo was centered on the altar, with six rows of pews included in the foreground. There were three rounded arches over the altar, with the center one half again taller than the others. On the back wall was a circular leaded glass window in the center vault and one tall rounded arch window in each of the side vaults. The windows were very elaborate, although the center window was obscured by the light fixture that hung in the middle of the ceiling vault. There was golden colored wainscotting on the walls. A heavy gold curtain hung on the wall directly under the circular window and a large gold cross was elevated in front of the curtain. Some sort of table supported two flower arrangements that looked for all the world like roosters. A metal railing with a center opening was around the altar. The ceiling vaults were supported by gold painted pillars with Corinthian capitals. A pulpit with a shimmering hanging was on the left side next to a pillar. The entire altar area was three steps above the rest of the church. The pews were wood, with racks on the back of each row for the hymnals, etc. The carpet was crimson. ************************On the verso Hope Grace had written "All Saints Episcopal Church, Oakley" in black ball point ink. In blue stamp ink was "Kodak" in a blue box and "equipment used to produce this picture" under that. "Mar 1984 N4" was stamped three times in blue ink
