Four color photos of the framed patent for America Felix Secundus, secured by Abraham Barnes when he combined five pieces of property into one large one. This document has been carefully mounted, its tears supported, and sandwiched between archival boards. It had spent most of its life folded with the identifying panel on the outside. The document itself is 26 3/4" wide by 13 7/8" high. The primary horizontal fold line was about 7 3/8" from the top of the document. The three large tears are on this line and there is text loss. The framing boards are 33 3/8" wide and 20 3/4" high. The boards are a cream color. There is a piece of ancient wax hanging from the bottom of the document. The text on the verso:
[illegible] St. Mary's County
Mr. Abraham Barnes Pat [illegible]
America Felix Secundus
Recorded in Lib [?] No. 2 Folio 246
[illegible] H. Jennings [illegible] Office
The arbitrarily designated 1st photo is of the whole piece. The 2d photo shows a large part of the text. The 3rd photo zeros in on the wax seal. The 4th photo shows the verso of the piece. These photos are much too small to allow one the read much of the text.
