Scope and Content

1 folder ; 9 5/8" x 11 7/8" The Association for Family and Community Education, St. Mary's County had two remaining clubs at this time: Willing Workers, who met in Oakley, and Fifth District, who met in Charlotte Hall, and Happy Homemakers. May 15, 1995 Treasurer's report. Anomaly with the Camp Cachasama report has yet to be resolved. The final vote on whether to do a Christmas Party at the Veterans' Home will be taken at the next meeting. Apparently there had been discussion about disbanding. The present officers said they would continue to serve. The quilting book was done. The club would buy three copies to give one to each library. Marie Gardiner was reimbursed for a training session about domestic abuse. The club was going to evaluate itself in several ways. January 17, 1996 Board meeting. Treasurer's report with discussion, two accounts were challenged, small notes about small issues, dates to remember, children's TV project, newsletter criticized, program on the Maryland quilt January 22, 1996 Treasurer's report, a new marketing brochure was in the works, by law amendment about monies left if the group disbands, Kathleen Fean installed as vice president, program was on dieting February 14, 1996 Board meeting decided to show membership types in the annual report, organization had done a plaque and a tree at Ye Coole Springs, a bylaw change will be initiated to stop paying state and national dues for honorary members March 13, 1996 Board meeting saw the new brochure. It was too expensive to produce in quantity. As of 1997, honorary members will not have state and national membership. There was mention of five scholarships. Jean Dean was apparently the extension agent at the time. April 15, 1996 Treasurer's report, put membership flyer in the newborn books, four people went to the district meeting, there was still a focus on children's TV, more discussion about dues for honorary members, snafu about the veterans home, College Days and Camp Cachasama were no longer part of the program, so could those scholarships be used for meeting attendance? September 23, 1996 Board meeting Bylaw revisions will be sent to members, hand out memberships brochures at the luncheon, some helpers did not show up at the trade show September 23, 1996 Association meeting Only six people were there, bring canned food to the luncheon for Community Service Day, haven't confirmed a date for the veterans holiday party, quilt books were delivered to the libraries, the October luncheon will be at the Half-Way House
