Black and white 3 1/2"h x 3 1/2"w photo of Bachelor's Hope. This focusses on the portico with its intruding stairway. On the second floor above the portico are three nine over nine windows. The portico has four stout posts and a simple, but elegant, frieze and verge board. There is a central door with two square panels on top, two rectangular windows above the doorknob, and six square panels below the doorknob. There is a single nine over nine window on each side of the door. The right window is somewhat obscured by the stairway. There are benches, chairs and a chaise longue on the portico. The porch floor appears to be two shallow steps from the ground. The trim paint is cleverly done. The Flemish bond brickwork has been well maintained.
