3 1/2"h x 5 3/8"w black and white photo on a postcard of the a bank in Leonardtown. The postcard has a dark cream background. The bank building was small--narrow on the street side and not too deep. It was full brick. There was one large window with a transom on the left side of the front elevation and a vestibule projected from the building on the right. A demilune window with presumably the name of the bank was over the double doorway. There was glass above and wood panelling below in each door. There were three stone steps up from the street. In the small space in the gable peak one small Palladian window was almost entirely obscured by the alarm box. There were six tall narrow windows visible on the east elevation. A small gable projected from the roof at right angles over the central windows on the side and there was a small window in the gable. All the windows had light colored cornices, more or less elaborate depending on location. There was lots of gingerbread on the building, really more than it could carry gracefully--it was much like an overdone dollhouse. There was a small flat roofed addition on the rear of the building. There were decorative finials on the roof peaks. There was a small picket fence on the left between the bank and Rose Cottage. On the right, there were brick posts and a metal fence closing off a small green space that looked unattended. Text below the image: "Leonardtown Bank, Leonardtown, Md."
