Barracks interior at Point LookoutEntry/Object ID
1980.001.0055Description
5"h x 7"w black and white photo of the interior of the buoy shed at the Point Lookout Light Station. This view focussed on the barracks included in the larger building. There was a white ceiling of quite large panels and a bare light bulb fixture attached to the ceiling. On the right, barely visible, was a double-hung window. Next to it was a roofless room that did not have a door in the door frame, but the space did have a window. A bird nest was on top of the door frame. Beyond the room was a door standing open with the text "Do Not Enter Weak Floor" on the top half of the door. There was a screen door with most of the screening gone. It was too dark to see what was beyond the door. Pieces of equipment and wires were on the floor to the left of the door. There was another wall on the left with an electrical outlet about waist high. The floor appeared to be of fairly wide wood planks.
