3 3/8"h x 4 1/4"w black and white photo of Barton Hall in the 7th District. It was a two story farmhouse with telescoping additions on one gable end. This is the back elevation. It appeared to have a metal roof with a single inside end chimney on the left gable end. A four light window was visible in the attic of the gable end. On the long face of the house, there were three six over six double hung windows on the second floor. A screened porch covered the entire house on the first level. The door was to the left. The porch floor was four steps above the ground. The porch appeared to have a metal shed roof. The first addition to the left was a story and a half gable roofed space with a long sloping shed roof attached to the gable end of the main building. It had a gable roofed dormer with a six over six double hung window. There was a window on the first level. There was an outside end chimney on the gable end. There was another chimney near the back corner of this addition. Next to that was another single story gable roofed addition with another outside end chimney. The part of this addition closest to the first addition had a long sloping shed roof that covered a screened porch of four bays one way and five bays the other way. There was a single six over six double hung window in the gable roofed portion of the addition. This was a substantial house.
