Bennett house near Foxwell's PointEntry/Object ID
1995.001.2173Description
4 1/4"h x 3 3/8"w photo of Archie Bennett's house in Leonardtown. The house was on the road to Foxwell's Point. Unfortunately, this is not a good photo; bushes and trees obscure many of the details. It was a two story L-shaped house with gable roofs intersecting a right angles. In this view on the nearest gable end there was a single large four light window on the first floor and two similar windows on the second floor of the gable end. There may have been a small window near the roof peak. On the long wall to the left there was a shed roof porch on the first floor and one visible window. On the second floor there were two visible windows, but there were probably more. On the short leg of the L there was a large chimney on a gable end. I think there was another shed roof porch to the left. On the far right there was a building with a standing seam metal roof, but I cannot tell if it was part of the house. The house was sheathed in clapboard.
