1 folder ; 9 5/8" x 11 7/8" Bessie Payne researched old homes in Saint Mary's County. She appeared to have started a research paper for a college course, but never finished it. She continued to collect snippets of information about old houses throughout her life. A niece, Jeanne Payne Murphy, later typed up the raw information and gave both versions to the Society. October 1998 This version is 31 pages plus title page and table of contents. Ms. Murphy sent a long cover letter that included biographical information about Bessie Payne. December 15, 1998 Thank you letter from Joyce Bennett to Ms. Murphy
