3 3/8"h x 3 1/4"w color photo of the birthplace of Archbishop Martin John Spalding, Bishop of Baltimore from 1864-1872. This building would be in the vicinity of Rolling Fork, Kentucky. It was a two story building with inside end chimneys on each gable end and another chimney about one third of the way from the right gable end. That would suggest an addition on the main building at some point. There was a two story eight bay porch whose roof was part of the roofline of the main building. It was a very large house. There was a stairway from the first floor to the second floor about halfway down the porch. On the visible gable end, there were two windows on the second floor. There also appeared to be a two story addition or perhaps even a barn on the far side of this gable end. Some windows and doors are barely visible on the long wall of the house. The building was in a derelict condition.
