Folder 000201. Pieces 201-210 Kate Blackiston wrote to say John Marshall Dent's wound was slight. There are several letters and accounts from Neale & Harris relative to the sale of tobacco and other farm products. One letter asks Mr. Dent's endorsement for his employment as a tobacco inspector and Dent drafted a note on the same page. Dent listed 15 points, possibly in response to a survey, about soils, crops, water power, and manufactures in the county. There is a letter from Matthew Brady's gallery in Washington, D.C. asking Dent to come by for a sitting to be added to the portrait to be produced of all the members attending the convention. Brady enclosed a copy of a similar composite of the United States Senate.Collection
