Folder 000157. Pieces 1491-1510 No pieces in the folder are numbered. There is a bill for a casket for George W. Blackistone. Apparently Mr. Mattingly, Mr. Dent, and Mr. Farral joined in shipping turkeys to Baltimore at Christmas, 1886 and there are several sheets accounting for their sale. Several sheets have long lists of materials bought at a lumber yard in Washington, D.C. in 1887 and 1888. Mr. Dent questioned the bill, but it was eventually settled. There is a long account sheet for Mrs. V. L. Blakistone with John F. Dent; he apparently managed her affairs at Little Hackley after her husband died. There is a statement of account in July 1888 from an attorney in Chattanooga, TN for John F. Dent and Joseph H. and Fannie L. Dent. It is in John F.'s handwriting. There is a receipt for fire insurance for John Marshall Dent's home. In July, 1889, John F. Dent shipped 365 1/2 bushels of wheat to Crispin Dawkins to be sold. He sent a long letter telling how to allocate the proceeds. Mr. Dent drew up a list of improvements on properties he managed to protest his assessment. He made over $5000 worth of improvements to Burlington, Duke Hart's, Waterloo, and Little Hackley. Mr. Dent bought several things at an auction of Nannie Blakistone's effects and they had some sort of agreement about that.Collection
