Folder 000337. Pieces 651-670 Three of the pieces in this folder are wrappers for smaller pieces. Mr. Dent's accounting sheet for 1848 is included. Taxes were levied in the amount of $3,187.07. Mr. Dent numbered his bundles of bills and placed bills for various stretches of road in separate bundles, e.g. bundle 30 contained bills for maintaining J.F. Dent's road. If I understand the sheets, $2999.68 of the levy was spent. There was a bounty for crows' heads--a little over 6c each--and many people took advantage of that. Mr. Dent billed the county for jury duty, and being trustee of the poor, supervisor of the roads and tax collector for a total of $261.Collection
