Folder 000094. Pieces 2211-2220. This entire folder is news clippings. Some are on economic issues of the day. One is from an Annapolis paper in the 1854 when Mr. Dent was elected speaker of the House of Delegates. There is a long article about secession written in 1862. On the verso of that article is an interesting list of the numbers of wounded in various hospitals and their units, but not their names. One small clipping lists the people being considered for the 1864 Constitutional Convention in Maryland. In anticipation of the cholera season, "Detergo" wrote a long article about disinfectant solutions. There is a long obituary for Kate Dent, the Dents' oldest daughter, who died in 1872. There is an 1873 notice of a sheriff's sale of Waterloo. There is an obituary for Priscilla Hebb Lancaster, who died in 1877. There is a long article cut from the Marlborough Gazette written by naval officer F. J. Townshend, who is a relative.Collection
