18"h x 25 1/2"w blueprints in five sheets and six leaves of an onionskin carbon copy of the specifications for the construction of a dwelling and store.
August 24, 1946 Specifications for labor and materials for the dwelling and store. J. A. Dyson was the owner of the new structure, and W. B. Honey was the architect. These were boilerplate paragraphs about who paid for what, who got the permits, excavation, concrete work, electrical work, painting, heating, etc.
August 24, 1946 Sheet 1 shows the plat plan and the foundation plan for a 45' by 30' structure
Sheet 2 shows the first floor plan with a concrete porch and large windows for the store and a small room on the back for the furnace and the laundry. Asbestos shingles were specified.
Sheet 3 shows the second floor plan with a living room, kitchen, pantry, three bedrooms and one bath. There is no obvious place for a dining table. However, there is virtually no counter space, so there must have been a table in the middle of the kitchen.
Sheet 4 shows the front and rear elevations. There is a large hipped roof over the porch, a central double door flanked by large double show windows, and three pairs of double hung windows upstairs. In the back, there is a back door to the store in the right corner, three other windows on that floor and one window in the attached utility room. There are four windows on the second floor and a narrow door from that floor onto the roof of the utility room.
Sheet 5 shows the left and right side elevations. There is a 4' false front on the front of the store and a railing around the roof of the utility room. On the left side, there is a door into the utility area.Collection
