James S. Bohanan, presumably a son of John Bohanan, trained as a physician at the University of Maryland in the early 1860s. There are two class admittance passes from his years at the University. He served as a United States Army physician in New Orleans for an undetermined amount of time. He may have lived and practiced in Baltimore, but the last piece in the folder is May 19, 1870, when he would still have been a young man, so it is not clear what choices he made.Collection
