There are many communications with Neale, Harris & Co. and other firms in Baltimore. These companies sold Mr. Bohanan's tobacco and other produce and provided and shipped groceries, etc. on account. The steamer used for transport was usually identified, as was the Captain of the vessel. A power of attorney form authorizing John L. Sears of Baltimore to file on Mr. Bohanan's behalf for compensation for the loss of slave Alfred Brown was never signed and sealed. Mr. Brown was in the 9th regiment, company B. There is a notation of deed recordation from Theodosius Courtney. There are several local tax bills. A form letter from the War Dept. informs Mr. Bohanan that there may be a loyalty test imposed on those who claim reparations for slaves. This group includes two notes with signatures excised.Collection
