30 pieces of varying sizes
This is the earliest Bohanan for which there are records. The earliest piece in the collection is a deed from Mr. Bohanan to Mr. Jeremiah Sanner, but all that is here is the cover sheet and some fragments of frail brown paper. The liber notation is there, so it would be possible to look at the book and see the property description. In February of 1832, Mr. Bohanan billed George Brewer for entering the certificate for Pleasant Harbor in the General Index. There follow several years of county and state tax bills. On August 9, 1847, a list of bequests from Mr. Bohanan's estate was made by John Bohanan, his executor. Jonathan Bohanan made provision for two daughters, two sons and several grandchildren. Several slaves were conveyed in the document, as well as farm animals, furniture, and money to a total of more than $3000. Tax bills continue in Jonathan Bohanan's name into the 1850s. The final piece is the 1854 discharge of a legacy due George H. Sanner, a grandchild.Collection
