Copy of a multi-volume set entitled "The American flora or history of plants and wild flowers: containing their scientific and general description ..." by A. B. Strong, M.D. The volumes were published by Green & Spencer of New York, copyright 1850-1853. The spine and cover titles are "The American flora." The cover title is centered on the dark brown cover, both front and back, printed in gold and surrounded by an elaborate golden lyre shape. Three gold lines around all four sides of the covers frame the ensemble. These are definitely presentation quality books.
