A wooden block, 3 7/8" x 3 1/4" x 7/8." One face has a metal sheet installed with small nails. The background of the design is thin vertical lines giving the effect of stripes. At the top left center is a box containing the outline of books and the text "J. Allan Coad." This box is surrounded by dogs and ducks. In the center is an image of a boatyard. At the center right is an opening in the plate which goes through to the wood beneath. Across the bottom is an image of fishing tackle and oysters. White powder is forming on some parts of the plate--oxidation of some kind? One copy of the bookplate as printed is in Box 2 of the Subject Files.Collection
