7"h x 5"w black and white photo of Elizabeth Britton. This may have been a photo of a photo. Ms. Britton had dark hair rolled back from her face, pulled behind her ears, and tied with a dark bow. She had a tiny scrap of material pinned to the top of her hair. She had on a dark silk? dress with a high collar faced with a different color, large sleeves with black velvet trim on the edges, and white full sleeves and cuffs protruding. The bodice was not really visible; there may have been ruffles partway down the front. The dress appeared to have a full skirt. Ms. Britton had her left arm resting on a high support and her right hand clasping the left. This made it easier to endure the long time she had to keep still for the photograph. She was not a young woman at the time of the photo.
