Description

This is a hair pin, I think with a small amount of brown hair from each person behind glass in a brass or gold frame. There is a solid frame raised above the glass with a 1/16" wide rim around it with stylized leaves. There is a 1/4" frame around that that is stepped down just a little. On the verso is a 3/16" wide metal strip to hold the rotating end of the pin and an open circle provides a the latch for the pin on the opposite end. There is a small piece of metal under the pin that is engraved "J.A.G. to J. M.G." Mr. Fenwick had this item in a bank envelope on which he wrote, "given to Chas. E. Fenwick by Mary Wallace Greenwell (her grandmother's pin) J A G J M G John A. Greenwell gave this to his wife Jane Margaret Fenwick Greenwell." The workmanship on the back of the pin is crude.
