Description

This is a color photo of Mr. Briscoe and his wife Dorothy taken in Mr. Briscoe's office. Mr. Briscoe is seated behind his desk. He has on a taupe cowboy hat with 2 decorative pins on the crown, a pale blue long sleeve dress shirt with the collar button open and a maroon and gray striped tie loosely tied around his neck. He has a pen and some papers in his shirt pocket. He holds encapsulated photos in his left hand and holds Dorothy's left hand in his right. Dorothy is standing on Mr. Briscoe's left in a short sleeve double knit polyester shirtwaist dress in a vivid blue flowered pattern. She wears a small gold watch on her left wrist. Her brown hair is curled back off her face and comes to her collar. She wears glasses. The office walls are a warm beige with warm brown woodwork. The window to Mr. Briscoe's left has a very deep window sill that is full of envelopes, papers, and photographs. There are many pictures on the two visible walls of Mr. Briscoe's office, including Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy, Lord Mountbatten [?] and the F-18. The desk holds a telephone, a jar of gumballs, 4 pens in stands, and stacks of envelopes and photos. An inhaler rests on the desk directly in front of Mr. Briscoe; he suffered from emphysema in his later life. His cane leans against the wall by the radiator.
