Buoy shed interior at Point LookoutEntry/Object ID
1980.001.0053Description
5"h x 7"w black and white photo of the interior of the buoy shed at the Point Lookout Light Station, a large gable-roofed industrial building with mostly board and batten wood siding. This view was of doors into interior rooms in the larger building. There were sheets of directions or some such tacked onto the wall on the left. The open door on the left had an illegible sign above it. On the wall in front of the camera, there was white door partially visible on the far left that had trash piled in front of it. There was a dark six-over-six window near the center of the wall and a door more to the right labeled "Barracks." I cannot identify what was beyond that door. Both doors were set into a board and batten wall that was likely ten feet high--it reached to the underside of the rafters. To the right of the door were two large black rectangular marks--either things were spray painted against the wall or something caught fire there. There were two long marks on the floor that the text on the verso identified as tramway skids. The floor appeared to be brick with lots of dirt on it. There were three bare electric bulbs on the rafters and one hanging low in the foreground.
