3 1/2"h x 4 3/8"w color photo of Calvert's Rest in Ridge. The house was being refurbished at the time of the photo. It was a story and a half small house built of whitewashed brick with a cedar shake gable roof. On the right side of the main building was a lower story and a half addition with clapboard siding. The main building had two inside end chimneys--one on each end. There were two gabled dormers in the that building with six over six double hung windows. In the addition, there was one gabled dormer with the same style windows. The photo is too dark to tell if there were any windows in the gable end. One the first floor there was a central door with one twelve over twelve double hung window on each side.
