Members of the Camalier family practiced law and were judges in the county.
Benjamin Harris Camalier was a practicing attorney, State's Attorney beginning in 1900, and judge, beginning in 19 . Henry C. Camalier practiced in the 1940s and 1950s. The bulk of the collection is correspondence about the practice, including a few estates, some debt collection cases, deeds and mortgages, advice to Justices of the Peace from the State's Attorney, some farming information and tobacco sales, requests for job recommendations, and more. Mr. Camalier, just like Mr. Dorsey, was not in a hurry to collect debts, so there are lots of letters from unhappy clients. There is one folder of more personal letters.Collection
